It?s a new month which means a new guest speaker! This month our guest is Deborah Stewart, M.Ed.. Learn more about Deborah by reading the bio from her webpage.

Deborah J. Stewart, M.Ed., has been a? professional in early childhood education for over 25 years. Deborah has worked in the early childhood field as a teacher, director,? curriculum writer, music director, and consultant for staff training and? professional development.

Deborah graduated with honors with an associate degree in early childhood? education, a bachelor degree in human services and management, and a master? degree in early childhood education. Deborah believes in life-long learning and? practices this through ongoing education, research, and study.

Deborah focuses her efforts as an early childhood consultant on staff? training, curriculum implementation, classroom setup, and children?s? music. Although the articles shared on Deborah?s blog represent her? perspectives on early childhood education, some of the photos she shares are? from her time spent in the beautiful classrooms of Learning Time Preschool, as well as from her own classrooms? at the Teach? Preschool Children?s Studio.

I started following Deborah on Teach Preschool?quite a while back. I?m a big fan of her work! You may have noticed?links?occasionally to her?site on our blog. Why am I such a fan? Her work demonstrates that she clearly understands what developmentally appropriate activities are. She trust?s the children?s own judgement and takes time to learn from them. She?s not in a rush with her curriculum and uses open-ended activities to inspire children. I appreciate the way she documents the children?s work and reflects on their learnings to shape her teaching.

When asked, Deborah gladly accepted my invitation to be the guest speaker for November. TUNE IN to her message about ?Teaching Under the Influence.? <? Click, then scroll down to Deborah?s name & click. Be sure to hop over to Teach Preschool?- be prepared to be inspired! Thanks Deborah!
